I'm trying to use Photoshop CS to resize down to 4x6 prints. The original resolution is 3008x2000, and I'm using 16 bit tiff files (exported from aperture). the problem is when I change the image size by selecting the 4x6 dimension within the image menu, paste them into a A4 sized work area and print them out, they come out fuzzy.

So far I've tried bicubic and bicubic smoother. Not sure if bicubic sharper will work but the kodak 1400 paper is expensive. (plus I don't want to waste any more if I can help it).

Aperture allows me to print 4x6 and 5x7 images on my printer but they're only one image per page being a dye-sub printer I cannot reuse the page. They do however print out tack sharp but there's a lot of waste, I should be able to fit three 4x6 images or two 5x7 images on one 8x12 or A4 sized page.

Perhaps I need a plug-in, or I'm doing it incorrectly.

the resized images are being pasted onto a A4 sized workspace, RGB/16 bit and 72 PPI settings (the tiff files are 72ppi).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I know the software should be able to handle this, so I know its me not doing it correctly.

Thanks in advance.

paste into a file with 300ppi or better and you'll get the results you wish.

Cool thanks - I'll try that when I get home today. Funny thing is the workspace defaulted to 300dpi, I should have left things well enough alone in that department.

I'm really a PS neophyte - I barely get done what I need to. I just don't have time to spend on it, but its getting to the point where I need to dig into it more.

Thanks
Mike
