My son is in cub scouts, and I'm responsible for designin the Blue & Gold banquet invitation and program. What software should I use for this? On my Mac, I have Photoshop Elements 3 and Microsoft Office. Which would you choose? Neither is what I would prefer, but I'm leaning toward Word since I can easily see the layout and size better than Photoshop.

Also, can anyone recommend a good font for a 1-5th grade banquet (with parents attending)?

depends upon which one you're most comfortable with. judging from your comments i'd guess it's not photoshop.

Unless the boy scouts have an official font, I'd just use whatever i liked that day that I had on the machine. Word will be fine if you can a) find templates or b) figure out columns.

yeah, It actually depends on you.. You can use Photoshop.. It is simpler to use than any other software.

You can also check this site for some tutorials: http://www.w3schools.com

Generally, you don't really want to be setting large quantities of type in photoshop. It's a little overkill for an invitation like he described--plus there is the likelihood that whoever will be doing it next year won't know photoshop, or have it.

thanks for the cool link though!

Perhaps the trial version of Pages? (if you have access to it).
