Hi,

Over the past few weeks I, along with a few other very important contributors, have set up a new online community called Pixel101. We have been working extremely hard at getting a really good look to the board that reflects what Pixel101 is all about.

We are planning to provide our users with a great range of tutorials across a whole range of programs like Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Cinema4D, Swift3d, and many more.

We have also installed an excellent Blog feature within the board that allows you to either set up your own blog or even link to an external one. And what's more it also includes some great AJAX features, allowing you to instantly change the layout of your blog for everyone to see.

As well as the Blog, we have also installed a Gallery, allowing users to share their work, whatever it may be, with the rest of the community. It is an excellent way of showcasing your talents, and with the ability to comment and rate each piece, you'll never get tired of submitting new work.

We have also set up a whole forum just for Photoshop Tennis and even if you would just like to participate in that and nothing else, Pixel101 is a great place to stage a match.

The team behind Pixel101 have a great amount of knowledge across the whole of Multimedia, from indepth graphic design to very advanced coding knowledge, we are always open to questions and problems that any members may have and are more than happy to give advice where we can.

We have put a lot of hard work and countless hours creating all of this so would love it if you could pop along and take a look.

I don't really understand your logo. Why is it a griffin? What has that got to do with pixel101?

Don't mean to offend anyone but for all the boasting about experienced web designers the colors suck and what is up with the buggy text formatting? Example:

Though you may have not seen or experienced this before, it is common when designers/artists become over familiar with the "rules" of design or typography to employ solutions that go to the extreme.

Personally, I love the colors and typography. Very mod. Very new. Very nice.... Where is the link to join this group?(<edit>oops, there it is </edit>)

I have no idea what are you talking about? Solutions that go to the extreme?


Anyway, there is nothing interesting about this site. There are already PLENTY of sites around that offer the same things as this one and more (CG Talk, GFX Artist, Eatpoo, etc etc). What would make me want to use this one instead? Does it have something special that others don't? If so, they should advertise that.
These people obviously do not know very much about deisgn because their logo says nothing about the company or website and shows that they didn't spend much time thinking about it.
The layout and colors of the site aren't bad, but they are just using a standard message board. Nothing special about that. The logo header area is way too large though. Takes up too much space at the top.
