Hi everyone

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. Or, even, compeltely the wrong kind of message board.

BUT...

I've come up with something which I think you might like. I'm really pleased with it. A new Apple Logo. It combines the old vintage colours with the modern sheen of the silver one, into an ultra-contemporary, unique and reminiscent design (I hope!)

I love doing graphics so I thought I might just pop by onto this site....

enjoy:::

Tell me if you can spot any crap parts - or whether you hate it altogether...

By the way, I love Apple and I wouldn't want to infringe copyright or anything --- I started this design from scratch on photoshop using the pen tool etc. Okay, it uses the same exact colours and shape so sorry.

whoa, not bad.... i prefer an all-green, glass apple.... but i too was swept up by the glassy trend that apple set with the arrival of OS X and made this

yeah, i know, the lighting is waaaaaaaay off..... and i messed up the layers so that's why there's an outline of white pixels on the apple.... if anything, this turned out to be more 'metallic blue' than glassy

but the dark blue area inside is already translucent.... so try to paste it over another image and you can see through it! (my first experiment with transparancies)

the only thing i have against the OP's apple is that half the colors seem out of order (in reference to the color spectrum) and the other half seem in order, but then again...thats how apple had it . having all the warm colors in the middle with the cooler colors on the edge really chops the apple in two parts from where im sitting but other than that...i dont mind it.

Looks pretty good, but if you're going to mimic old style Apple, you're gonna have to use Garamond not Palatino.

All that was really done was ad a drop shadow, bevel and some fake gloss. I think the current Apple logo outline is much more modern and neat even though it is simple.

Your logo will not look good in a fax while the current one will look good on pretty much everything.

Think about the famous logo's that are out there, none of them are that complicated.

I agree as well.

The place for fancy logo effects (as in, anisotropic reflectivity, rainbow/glass, or translucency) is in physical representations of the logo--ie the Apple logo engraved on the side of the PowerMac towers. On paper and on screen though, I feel its definately best to keep it simple.
