Help with background image

Neophyte here trying to play with a background image. I am using This as my background. I like the texture a lot, and I think I like the color. But, I would like to play with changing the color a little, so it is less green.
Is there a way in either photoshop or fireworks to figure out how the background texture was made? If so, is there a way to easily change the color that make up the texture?
Much appreciated.

I'm not a photoshop master, but i dont think there is a way that you can just 'find out' how a texture was made, also the texture could be hand made! at uni one of my teachers use to always go on about greating images from hand rather than going to the computer since its 'unique' and its not just some fancy filter that anyone in the world can replicate. You could always use that texture and change the colour levels of it if you want it 'less green'

Kind looks like leather. No software can "figure out" how the background texture was made. You on the other hand can by experimenting and with a bit of trial and error. For example, in Photoshop, you can change the color via image>adjustment>hue/saturation and/or image>adjustment>levels. Also, there are several preloaded filters that individually or combined can mimic the texture. Filter>texturizer>grain, note paper, patchwork are a few that can be so manipulated. It will take an investment of time, but you'll have fun.
Another solution is to search for and purchase a royalty free background image. A good place to start is "Graphic Resources *read first*" posted by Demonhood (the admin) at the top of this forum. There you'll find several sources listed.
