Ok, so I'm a complete photography newb. I hope I'm posting this in the proper forum! lol. Anyways, I just got a Sony CyberShot DSC-T1 camera the other day (awesome camera!!). Anyways, I really don't know much about photography and camera settings or anything like that. Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice as far as camera settings, proper shooting forms, etc. I primarily use the camera at parties, outdoor events, lots of different lighting situations. I go for the highest image quality possible (I'm not worried about memory card space), so I have the camera set to shoot at it's highest resolution. I don't do professional photography obviously, pretty much just your every day shooting...pictures of friends, parties, the pets at home, some landscape and outdoor shots, etc.

Anyone have any suggestions for me? I read through the camera manual but I'm still not very savy when it comes to these things. I just want high quality, well lit, balanced images. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You should definately look up and invest into a couple of good eBooks for people starting to learn photography. They're not too expensive and are extremely helpful. Check out Oreilly. You might find something of use there.
