To take a snapshot with Shift-CMD-4 or with Grab or Snapz Pro, or to drag an image from iPhoto onto the desktop results in a generic icon instead of a thumbnail. If I process the image in Photoshop and save it to the desktop the result is also a generic icon. But, finally, If I take a snapshot with Snapz and save it into ~/Pictures for some reason the result is a thumbnail. (I would want a thumbnail, for example, in order to copy and paste into an Info window to change a hard drive icon.) I can find no Finder preference that would make a difference. I can't seem to figure this one out. Can anyone help?
