As the subject line says:

When I run Fetch (5.1) and Windows (v.X) at the same time every application I'm running crashes. From there I've discovered that I best restart my machine.

Anyone else?

Windows = Word?

P.S. I abandoned Fetch years ago, but I'll see what I can do.

Yep, Microsoft Word v.X.

What are you using in place of Fetch?

Transmit is very good but costs $$$.
Cyberduck is also very good, but not quite as Mactastic. It is FOSS however. Yay!

I sucked it up and purchased Transmit. IMHO, worth the price.

That being said, I FTP a few times a week.

Transmit is a very well thought out app with a beautiful interface. However, I had a few instability problems with it so I switched to Cyberduck, aside from the ghastly icon it's a solid app.

Whatever floats your rubber duck...

If you don't need to do SFTP, try the free version of RBrowser.
I do not like those green links and spam.

The ftp interface in GoLive is pretty good and really stable. If you have CS or CS2 you may already own it.

I've been using Fetch for quite some time and am happy with the results. I never get disconnected and files transfer quickly with the servers I need to hit. Will have to look at some the suggested alternatives just the same.
