Hi, I just bought Flash 8 and intend to use it a lot. My question is does anyone recommend any must-have Flash books to help me get the best out of the program, and creating phenomenal flash sites?

I do quite a bit of Flash development, and I really don't use any books. I'd recommend Actionscript.org or visiting one of the many tutorials available on Adobe.com. Decide what you want to do, and then research how to do it. It sounds stupid, but it has worked well for me! Good luck...

I've got the SAMS teach yourself in 24 hours, it is very elementary, but useful for starting out. The Actionscript companion is a must once you get frustrated with the simple ways the other one starts out at.

Then I've got the bibles. These are not to be taken lightly, high on the code, no "baby actionscript" but full on.

Don't forget to start out simple and build from there. No one gets to do a hollywood flash site on their first go.

This is a direct plug - cause I found the site very helpful. No I don't get paid by him.

I will warn in advance - the artist IS a touch well . . . touched, but his information is broken down into little bits so you can digest at your own speed. Flash is a program that often depends on one's drawing ability, so remember those early 101 drawing basics. Circles and squares make up all objects...
