So I connected my MacBook to my TV and thick, opaque, white lines slowly creep up the TV. The lines aren't apparent on my MacBook's screen. I have tried a few different system preference display options, like 1024x768 or 800x600, etc. it doesn't seem to make any difference. I also tried connecting it via S-Video and Standard Cabling (the yellow one).

The television is a Philips 37" 1080p/i/720p/i HDTV LCD.

Any ideas?

NTSC? PAL? It sounds like a display frequency problem. Do you have a setting for display frequency (Hz)? I would try 60 if it's a normal US TV. If that doesn't work, try some others. After that, call Apple support, because it really ought to work, and if it's broken you probably want to get it fixed under warranty.

NTSC, and it was set at 60 hz.

Actually I plugged it into a different input in the television and it stopped. I don't know why it does that, but hey....FIXED!
