I give presentations that I would like to begin recording (for podcasting and/or uploading mp3s to my website).

To record, I'm considering running a line to my G4 PowerBook. I don't know much about audio technology, so I would be interested in your hardware/software recommendations and how-to.

I've looked at the Griffin iMic. Is that a good option? What kind of cable do I need to plug into it? Most of my presentations will use the same sound system, and it's about 25 feet away from where I stand (approximately).

What software would you recommend for recording audio (for uploading/podcasting)? I've read about Audacity.

Thanks!
