I heard CD MBP can manage CS2/MX2004 tolerably (considering Rosetta is translating the PPC apps on the fly). Now, with C2D MBP, I wonder if CS2/MX2004 apps can be run up to the same speed or a little faster than the most recent PPC PowerBook. I am interested in hearing from the actual users who work with CS2/MX2004 on daily basis.

My sister had CS2 installed on a Mac Mini Core Duo with 2 gigs of ram, and it was barely useable, she took the mini back and bought a 1.67ghz PowerBook G4 to tide her over until CS was universal

Ok, I found an answer to my own question as I just bought a C2D MBP 15" recently. So far, CS2 launches and performs as good as my PowerBook. It is a very noticeable improvement over Core Duo MBP. When I tried CS2 on Core Duo MBP (not C2D) at the Apple Store, I was simply disgusted by the slowness of the whole experience. It seems C2D fixed that problem for now until UB-version CS3 would be released later next year.

I have found Dreamweaver, InDesign and Photoshop(for some basic stuff) to be more than reasonable on the C2D iMac in the sig, a nice upgrade over the PowerBook I must say.
