I am a new Mac user. I am trying to export a large graphic file to Word (having captured it in Preview and then saved it as a .tiff file). However, I need to remove a few imperfections from the graphic--I need something with an eraser, or something that will let me just remove a few tiny key elements from the graphic. Any ideas?

I would really appreciate any help you can spare. I don't have Photoshop yet, or that would obviously be my best bet (planning to buy it for cheap from my university next week, though).

IMAGE EDITORS (free or opensource licenses)
LiveQuartz - a basic image drawing/layout app with layers, can import PDF files as a layer
LiveQuartz Image Editor 1.6.3 - MacUpdate

InkScape - a vector-based opensource graphics editor, functionality similar to Adobe Illustrator or Freehand
Inkscape 0.44.1 - MacUpdate

GIMP - a raster-based opensource graphics editor, with functionality similar to Adobe Photoshop
GIMPshop 2.2.11 - MacUpdate (with more photoshop like menuing)
Gimp.app 2.2.11 - MacUpdate (traditional GIMP menus)

Seashore - raster-based free image editor, more basic than Photoshop but comparable
Seashore 0.1.8p3 - MacUpdate

Seashore is probably your best bet for what you're looking for. GIMP is *very* capable but less like Paint and more like Photoshop.

You're the best!! Gimpshop and Seashore will be perfect. I've already fixed my issue with Seashore. Thank you, you made my day!
