I have inhereted an InDesign job that I have to correct & adjust.

The original "designer" (ie: a computer geek who thought he was a designer 'cause he had CS2)* created a complex inline object that needs to be adjusted... is there any way to EXTRACT an inline object from the text box, so I can mess with it as art (and then re-insert it as an inline object)? I've tried dicking around withh it for the past hour, even tried manual consulting! (See how desparate I am?)

So far, no luck. I could re-create the entire object and use that, but it is complex as all hell...

Can I do anything, or is it rock & hard place time?
(I'm being paid by the hour, so it wouldn't be terrible... just boring.)

*PS: There is no way to contact the original "designer." He is a bitter ex-employee...

Sorry, I have no answer for you. I don't use ID too much.
However, I would seriously suggest you also pose this question on the Adobe InDesign forums. (Provided you haven't already done so, of course.)

All the inline objects I've ever done have just been pasted in, and if you click in the text box you can select them, cut them, copy them to pasteboard etc. If they are eps you should be able to edit from links menu... what kind of object is it?

Could the object or layer be locked?
