Can it be done?

I have the brown version at home.
I have the lavendar version at the place I am freelancing.
How do I save it backwards if I want to work over the weekend at home?

I know a year ago someone once showed me a way... he didn't save it backwards as much as he saved it to a "neutral" version with a different suffix that could be opened by an earlier version...

Yes it can. Go to File>Export. Then choose the "InDesign Interchange" (.inx) format from the bottom drop down and save. Be aware that any new InDesign CS2 functions, features, styles etc. used, will not be included in the .inx file.

You will also need to install the update "Adobe InDesign CS 3.0.1 April 2005" in your previous version. Choose Support>Downloads, then go to the InDesign downloads page.

hmmmmmm... The PC I am using already has 3.0.1... but it still won't open the inx file... it acts like it is going to, but at the last minute tells me "Nope."

I guess I'll go to an InDesign forum...

Thanks

3.0.1 should open it...though, i'll tell you, i've had a lot of crashes opening up INX files. Had to trash all of my preferences for indesign and then it would open. That is info i gleened from forumns a year ago when i was begging for help with INX files.
