Is there something better than the AG-HVX200 in that similar price range?

I do movies and right now I have a DCR TRV30 and the time has come to sell it and upgrade.

I see the new canon sub 1000 dollar HD cam and the sony and Pani as well.

Suggestions would help.

My price budget would be from 1000 bucks to around 6000 bucks give or take.

Lots of action, running, Gun explosions etc. Those are the kind of things I will be shooting. Car crashes etc. I need to be able to have more than 30 fps. I know people have preference but the bottom line is one is better than the other and if someone can guide me in the right direction that would be great.

Given the rate at which the technology is changing you'd be wise to rent cameras for a few years. Seriously. Otherwise you're just throwing your money away.

Needless to say editorial should factor into your decision. For example, there are some issues when importing into an Avid with some cameras. Be sure you do your homework up front. Could make for a costly learning experience if you're locked into an editor.
