I'm using Aperture on a Mac Pro and MacBook Pro and currently have the library and images on the file server (so they can be easily mirrored and accessed anywhere). However, I sometimes find that that it freezes up, even when running on gigabit ethernet with jumbo frames. Does anyone have an optimal configuration to ensure reliability and functionality as noted here? Thanks!

The only thing I can think of is have the library local, and the vault on your file server. a gigabit ethernet is still slower then a hard drive so you're feeling the effects of the bottleneck.

Yeah, that's probably a good way to go. I guess Aperture creates the previews and stores them in the library, so that's going to help the performance.
