I am new to photography and weddings is not my cup of tea yet.

It all depends what you make of it. A large part of wedding photography is highly standardized, almost like the Spanish Court ritual. That's boring. But there are some creative minds, that get pretty interesting shots out of even an always a bit the same looking show like a wedding.
