Is it possible for two people to buy one copy of Photoshop together and each install it on their separate computers? If they are both laptops or one laptop and one computer. Would they both be able to use it? It's Photoshop 7 by the way.
Thanks.

nope
From remembering PS 7 has only a single user installed on one cpu license. CS3 has the ability to install the app on two computers (unspecified what type) but they can't be run at the same time and must be owned by teh same user.

You can only run one copy at a time. That's what Adobe says, as they consider running two copies as a breach of their license agreement.

Yes, you can do this.
Neither computer can be on the same network, though. In addition, it would be preferable if one of the computers never connects to the internet as long as Photoshop is running.
I know the copies of Pshop will sniff a network to make sure there aren't multiple copies running. I'm not sure if Pshop will "phone home" to Adobe to check-in, though. That's just my extra paranoia.

Yes you can do this. But not legally. The user license will be in th ename of one person. That ONE person can own and run Photoshop on more than one CPU owned by THEM but not at the same time.
The second person is not entitled to run any copy anywhere at any time.

What if those two people have a business and the software is in that name?

You don't have to suffer from free software.
Look at Photoshop Elements or Lightroom. That's at least real software.
You can also try to get a used copy, but I expressly warn you of eBay. Don't buy there, as the crooks and pirates abound, and eBay couldn't care less, as long as the law isn't changed that makes it responsible for what it sells.
Get it from a private person, and make sure you get the Adobe License Transfer Document.
Just think, that you will invest a lot of time in learning software. With free software, you ware wasting it. You are not learning a widely accepted standard like Photoshop.
If you are really interested in learning Photoshop, then arrange for some kind of financing.
You didn't say what you are planning to do with Photoshop. If it's editing snaps, PS Elements will be fine, and it's not expensive.
