Greetings,

I'm applying for a position as a designer at a publication. One of the job descriptions is a familiarity with "BHR Protocol" for organizing files.

I've found information regarding this fairly limited on the web. Is anyone here familiar with it and if possible, can provide a link or some background on it? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Is it this position ?
If so, I find it interesting that "BHR" matches the initials of the publication itself. I have a feeling it's some internal organizational process that no one outside the company would ever have experience with.

My advice, if you can't find any information about this mystery process, is to simply admit that you are not familiar with that process but can certainly learn it quickly, and that you are always eager to learn new processes that make you more productive.

Remember...job descriptions are often written by people in HR who are sometimes very clueless about actual job requirements, especially the technical aspects. The job requirements certainly read like they were written by someone who has never actually worked as a print designer.

Reading that list of requirements, though, a couple of things stuck out to me that you should look at carefully...
• Must have a Mac to work with
• Must have CS3 suite

This would appear that they will want you to provide your own computer and software for the job. To say the least, this is highly irregular for a staff position.

Thorzdad,

I didn't even notice "BHR" was the initials of the publication, so it must be their internal protocol or whatever. Thanks so much for your help/reply. Much appreciated.
