Hi All,

I'm in the middle of editing some RAW files (DNGs generated by DXO Optics Pro from Nikon NEFs) and something strange is happening: there are some bright areas (lit lamps) that, when I click on the thumbnail in ACR, look correct for a moment, and then the those bright areas automatically go dimmer (and there are a few other bright areas in the photos that are affected, though they aren't as important).

It's almost as if I'd used the Recovery slider, but I haven't (it's on zero).

To bring them back to the original brightness would require a global edit, making the rest of the photo too bright.

I've seen this behaviour in the past (when editing Nikon NEFs directly, not via DXO), but it's never really been an issue. With these particular images, it is.

In the ACR prefs, I've turned off any automatic processing. I've also not got any automatic processing set for this camera (nor any other camera).

Can anyone shed any light on this problem? (pun intended :-)

Many thanks in advance,

Chas
