Hi, Does anybody have experience of the Photo Editor Pixelmator? Would like to know if suitable for beginners and how easy it is to use. Also how comprehensive if compared to Photoshop Elements. All pros and cons. All answers would be very welcome. Charles

Aside from a few filters and some really high end features it's actually more comparable to Photoshop than Elements. It reminds me of the way Elements used to be, a more basic version of Photoshop, now with all this file browser BS and attempts to make things easy on stupid users, they removed all the power and elegance from Photoshop.

I HIGHLY recommend Pixelmator, especially since it's blazingly fast. If they added dodging and burning tools (not just layer effects) I'd probably have switched already.

In other words, BUY IT!

I have it and love it. I'm not very demanding, but I appreciate the Mac-like interface. I second Salty's comment that it's a Photoshop Elements competitor and not a Photoshop replacement.

So yes, it would be a very good software for beginners.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
