I need to do a typography poster for my uni course and i wanna create a baroque mask out of type. I thought it would be a good idea to shape the letters into the shape of letter, so a C for example would be use as part of the side of the mask and then other letters with make up the inside.

I tried to do this on illustrutor but i was on;y able to fill a shape up with words or letters. But i need to know how i can warp a letter into a certain shape but for someone to look at it and recognize which letter it is. I'll try to find an example of what i mean

there's no magic button in illustrator to do what you want to do. Just your own tweaking with the pen tool.
