I've seen the new Sony DCR-IP5 and IP7BT camcorders in magazines, and they should be out next month. They look very cool and compact. My question is, will these cameras work with Macs and iMovie, because of the new different format(mpeg2)? If not, does anybody know if this is going to be something that will be addressed in the future?

It's my understanding that they're not compatible with iMovie, but I'm not certain.

Like any other new format, if enough people buy into it, compatibility will come. No telling when.

Don't go near them, these cameras are for people with more money than sense. iMovie will not import MPEG-2 video as the program is intended for DV editing.
