Hey guys!!!
I just got a new Iomega CD burner, and am using it a lot.
Could someone tell me how to convert an MP3 into an aiff. or wav. to be burned onto CD? I know this is 3rd grade stuff, but I've never done it before, and my Adaptec Toast program doesn't do it (I don't think). What can I DL and purchase that would allow me to burn some of my MP3's onto a CD, as an AUDIO CD?

Toast does it for me. I just drop my mp3 on top of it and it converts them and gets it ready to burn. If it dosnt work you can download SoundApp and set the setting yourself. its freeware. but toast does work

Is there something you set in preferences to make it convert? And to which format?

Every time that I try to drag MP3 files into the Audio CD window on Toast, it tells me that I have tried to drop in an "unsupported format".
HELP!!!!!!

Hey Ogden. The reason it's not working for you in toast is because you need Toast deluxe if you want to drop mp3s and record them as an audio CD. Or if you dont have the cash. Download MPeckers Drop decoder and decode mp3s into wave files. Then you can drop them into regular Toast. Check WWW.hitsquad.com/smm/mac/

Just use QuickTime Pro to export to aiff...
Aiff is better.

I use SoundJam to convert between MP3 and AIFF... Then I take the AIFFs and drop them on Adaptec Jam and burn the CD. I've never had problems with that setup.

MPeckers DropDecoder is your best option. Great programs.

I'd reccommend SoundApp PPC (search www.versiontracker.com ).
It plays everything and converts anything to anything else. And it's freeware!

In about 4 other forums I have supported SoundApp as an all purpose mp3, sound, converter, etc. so I have to do it again. SOUND APP!

Yep, SoundApp er, rocks! But you can also convert your mp3s using QT Pro. Then again, SoundApp is free. Ok, I guess I'm just echoing what's already been said here.
Ok.
