Very cool design, congrats!

Here are my comments...

You are going to get dinged on the very sloppy iWeb code as far as your Google pagerankings go, and you are also going to get spam harvesters with your email address exposed like that. Your Portfolio page is also not search engine friendly, and seems very slow to load. With Javascript off I'm unable to see your portfolio page at all, and I cannot use my back button or bookmark any of those pages (I would suggest looking at the YUI History library for improving this). I'm also not sure what the Google G has to do with emailing you?

Have you thought about handcoding your site? This will make things much faster, more compatible, and will make for a much better experience on mobile devices in the process in terms of performance.

Thanks for the feedback.

As for handcoding my site, Im pretty new to HTML and CSS. Ideally I would like to code my own site up using Dreamweaver. This site is temporary until I learn the basics etc.

The page rankings on google, my site is listed top when 'jminns media' is searched... does it need to be at the top when searching for example 'graphic design' I think that would get more hits.

Im going to change the Google 'G' logo to a simple email logo using the same web 2.0 theme.

Thanks again for your feedback. Much Appreciated!

Jon.

Clean looking. I expect the large read headlines to link to their sections. Having to explain to someone to click on a picture is very web 1.0.

In general, be more succinct. Instead of "click on whatever to go to whatever" just say "Check out blah" and have blah be a link. In about, when you say "Please feel free to browse the portfolio" portfolio should be linked. Instead of "My CV is available to download from the link below" just "Read my CV." and have that be a link. Etc.

The purple outline you have around clicked images though looks like a mistake. Put some a, a img {border: none;} into your CSS if the border is not your intent.

I would make clear on your portfolio page what is student work and what isn't.

I do wonder though... if you haven't learned the basics, then I wonder why you have web up there as a specialty? While I'm not one to insist on hand-coding like besson, if you are advertising yourself as a web designer, knowing iWeb isn't enough.

Love the site. Incredible what you did with iWeb.

It's clean, and shows your talent.

Only thing I'd like would be more contrast between the red type and the background, and more contrast within the red letters and the light reflections.

PS: I wouldn't make your CV a download per se.

Some will just take a look. I never click on download links of this kind. Present a page with your CV, and then offer the option of a download.
