I have an excellent Xerox solid-ink printer at work, and I'd like to increase the quality (or feel) of some of the more important documents I print. I was thinking of printing on heavier paper (but not too thick). Can someone recommend a paper or weight that I should look at? Think of important contracts, significant letters, etc.

Your best bet would be to go to a stationary store and sample the various paper weights they have.

Go for the heavier plain text weights and stay away from any cover-weight stock or card stock (which could prove to be too stiff to run smoothly). And, for the love of everything near and dear, avoid any glossy or otherwise coated stock. You have no idea the mess that will ensue running a glossy coated paper through one of those printers.

80 or 100 pound text (not cover) should give a bit more texture without clogging your printer. YMMV.
