Can iTunes or WiMP convert MP3 to WMA?

I'm thinking of buying the Rio 600 MP3 player but it only has 32Mb RAM with it. To maximize it, I figure I should use WMA format. I could buy the extra 32Mb backpack but it's still not big enough for MP3s.

So, can iTunes or WiMP convert MP3 to WMA, and possibly sync it with the Rio?
