Can anyone tell me the best way to get files from Illustrator (vers8) into QXP (preserving paths even better) and also what filter to use to do the following in Illustrator:

draw a circle
draw a triangle in the centre which overlaps the circle at each apex.
select all - then (pathfinder?) filter it to be able to remove just the overlapped points/parts and be left with a circle with 3 interior lines - if you know what I mean?

Thanks in advance

J

Save your Illustrator file as an EPS and place it in Quark.

As for the cropping of the art - Yes, in pathfinder there are a couple of filters that will do what you want. It depends on which piece of art is in front as to which to apply. Just select both and try a couple until you find the right one - command+z puts you right back where you were.

thanks a lot jholmes.
I think I've sorted it out now - (I had a problem finding the pathfinder filters in illustrator 8)

I didn't quite understand your question since you were mentioning the pathfinder tools already. Good to hear you got it working. Sounds like you are 'old-school' illustrator (pre 8 and likely 6.5 or so).

Yeah they moved the Pathfinder in 7 or 8 from where it started out - I hate it when they do that. As I recall they changed the key commands to match Photoshop as well - Irked me for six months until I got used to it.
