Hi all,
I am planning on buying Photoshop 7 to run under OS X. It will be mostly to play with some digital pictures, amateur work, etc.
I was interested in the Graphire2 tablet or the cheapest Intuos2 (4x5). But it is not clear to me what the differences are. I know the Graphire has 512 pressure levels and the Intuos2 has 1024. But any other difference? Are they both supported by Photoshop under OS X?
What would you suggest?
Thanks!

Go Here to see the advantages of the intuos, such as angle detection and optional tools

Unless you are a pro artist doing full on airbrushing etc, the graphire will be more than adequate for your needs.

Save your $$$$ and get the graphire, even if you decide to upgrade later you wont have lost much.

Edit: I am sure that both tablets are fully supported. I have the graphiire 1 and everything works well now even in Photoshop 6.0 in classic mode.

if you need to ask which is better, then you'd probably better just get a graphire first and save mucho money

but if you were the smartest dude on earth, you'd go to a store/friend'shouse/school/applestore where you can fully explore both before you buy

I photoshop all day long with my 99 dollar Graphire and couldn't be more pleased with it. But check the wacom website as I'm not sure they are supported under X.

Hi,
I guess I should have been more specific and say that I was wondering if the Intuos2 is really worth the price difference. I did find more info on the Wacom site, but not very well presented.
So, following the suggestions here, I've decided to buy a Graphire2 and save some money for now. There are some OS X drivers, so I think it will work with Photoshop 7 under OS X. But now I wonder: how well? Can Photoshop use it for its "19 pressure-sensitive tools" like the Intuos2 (per Wacom website)?
Thanks again,
AJM
