very nice.
did you also use a photo reference?
i'd imagine that most people that want to produce such things go with illustrator. not that i'd know, never touch the stuff myself

The phone is mine. I was bored at work the other day while I was waiting for work to arrive.
The phone was on my desk and I just decided to give in a go.

Very nice. I've always admired the amount of effort and attention to detail that goes into tromp loil (sp?) / photo-realism. I've dabbled with stuff that was photo-realistic ages ago (before I ever used a computer). The thing is; it's nice to do just to see if you can, and it's also a great way to sharpen ones skills, but it's not as practical as just taking a photo.

It's like climbing a mountain "because it's there". But I gotta say it's really awesome looking. Did you take a photo, scan it, and trace over it, or did you do it like a real still-life?

I used a ruler and doubled up on the sizes to get the basic shapes (outline, screen size, buttons etc). I then built it up using the real phone sat on my desk. The total number of layers in photoshop where 126....(including the original outlines that you can no long see)

PS- I hate that shadow... I'll be deleting it if I can find the file.
