Sure,
You probably have a version of Illustrator lying around, right?

Open the MS-Word document on a Mac or PC, make sure you have a postscript printer driver installed (like AdobePS or Laserwriter8 or on a PC, the adobe driver which is freely downloadable from their site).

Then print the document into a file (option is available on both platforms), take the resulting .ps or .prn file and open it in illustrator. Delete any extraneous information and perhaps pretty up the picture, then save as an EPS.

Place the EPS into Quark. You'll be printing pretty in no time!

You may want to outline the fonts when you are in illustrator, MS products do wierd type stuff when printed to postscript. Try not to use the MS specific 'condensed' or custom letterspacing in Word which doesn't translate well at all into Illustrator (your type is all munched together and spaced wrong).

I've done this with huge tables from Excel too and it works like a charm.

that would work if he was happy with how the ms charts looked, but if you want them pretty, well... MS ain't pretty. til quark 5, here's what I'd do:

cut text from ms word/excel, then set up new graph at correct size in illustrator, paste in data.

Design the way you want, colors, fonts, etc.

save as, replace data, illustrator will change graph.

Usually works, some bugs with somethings not wanting to change or reverting back to "pre-design" settings.

If they are all text charts (w/columns and such) best bet is to import text into quark, and set up a style sheet with tabs where you need them.

<sbrug> it's alls I got...

Even funnier is how much we put up with receiving junk in MS-Office formats!
