I know this is something to post in powerbook forum, but I thought I could give this forum a shot to...

I am want to get a powerbook Ti, but I am set back a bit by the poor resolution.

I will use the Pb for graphics, web and 3d modelling....
Are any of you guys using a Pb for this? Does it work, and is the screen "big enough"?
Cheers All!

This is probably better off in the Powerbook forum, but I'll answer your question anyway...

I use my Tibook for print, web, and multimedia work, and the screen size is adequate (1152x768). However, you can plug into an external monitor and get an extended desktop, and you can work as large as you want. And while the graphics card seems skimpy at first (16MB Radeon Mobility), I was impressed by its 3D performance, although I'm not sure how much 3D power you'll need for the work you intend on doing (i don't do too much 3D work to know), but laptops tend to be a bit underpowered anyway.

As for the powerbook screen having a "poor resolution," I'll admit that it would be good if the res were slightly higher, but laptop screens are so small (relative to desktop displays), anything too high will be too hard to work with (especially if you work with a lot of text), and laptop screens set to anything other than their native resolutions don't look too pretty. I would recommend a TiBook myself, but I would also suggest waiting for the next revision (which is expected sometime this summer... but that's only a guess) which is likely to have a better screen resolution and a more powerful graphics card, if you can wait that long. If you look in the powerbook forums, you'll see at least a couple of threads discussing the possibile features for the next powerbook, and the strengths and weaknesses of the current models.
