Hi, I'm a developer working on a small freeware app called "Extensions Manager". It is a Cocoa app which manages kernel extensions and startup items. I'm going to add localizations (German, French, Spanish) but I need someone to design an icon. I can't pay anything but the one will have an entry in the (also upcoming) credits in the aboutbox!

Is somebody interested? Mail me @ <thilo@itoast.de>

Cheers, Thilo

PS: You can download the app @ <http://info.itoast.de/software/Extensions%20Manager.sit>

You may need to modify the name to avoid and probs with apple legal, since the old OS9 contro panel has that exact same name... just a warning.

Oh, thank you. As I use the german version of Classic it is named like "Extensions On/Off". But I'll seek a cool new name. What about "Extensions Blaster"?

How about:

Extension Juggler
Extendo Blendo
Load'em up! (I'm from Texas so say this one with a twang...)
Eric Henao - Graphic Designer
Dual 2.5 GHz G5 - 2.5 GB RAM - OS 10.3.7
and TECHNO music!!!

These are my ideas for names.

-Extension Coordinator
-Kernel Manager
-Mr. Rogers (I just think it would be funny seeing a little image of Mr. Rogers)
-Branch Manager
-Extension Cop

Maybe I will post an icon later.

I like the Kernel Manager idea. That's seems to fit along in the UNIX world.

They's good, so what about "Kernel Juggler"? It's a mix of all. BTW I already registered the "Extensions Manager" at Apple OS X Downloads. They haven't posted it yet, but if they are against the title it's not too bad. Imagine if I get a mail from Apple's legal department. It would be a big honor, I could hang it over my bed )

i'm imagining the icon should be something involving the puzzle piece icon from the old extensions manager (not cut/paste that one, but something along those lines). that'd make it easier to pick up and understand from us old school 9 users.

maybe a hybrid of the puzzle piece (init) and a popcorn kernel? i think i'm onto something here

I like the app. You should include the possibility of authenticating as admin or root from inside the app in order to use it with privileges.

Thanks! I put it on my to do list.

BTW: I'm working on a frontend for mpg123 a command line mp3 player which uses only 4% of your processor cycles. I'll make it freeware too (I have to I think), but I need some icons! An Application icon and small icons for the lists: a playlist icon, song icons and playing and pausing song icons.

Is someone interested? Credit in credits as always

Cheers, Thilo

PS: I'm still waiting for an Extensions Juggler Icon
