I'm a senior chemical engineering student, and I'd like to find a program that I could use to draw real pictures of like pump, and industrial equipemnt, like 3D stuff. It would be neat if I could have 3D modeled pictures of the plants I am designing for my presentations. Anyone have an idea what I'm talking about, or want to point me in the right direction, and give me some names of programs I should look into getting? It would be nice if templates of the equipment was included, but I doubt I'll really find anything like that, so basically just the abilityu to be able to draw lots of things. Thanks everyone!!

Most engineering design types use stuff like AutoCADD which (I believe) is a PC only application. On the Mac side there's stuff like:

<a href="http://www.deneba.com/products/denebacad2/default.html" target="_blank">DenebaCad</a> (they offer a free demo, but this appears to be mainly for architectural purposes)

or

<a href="http://www.nemetschek.net/mechanical/index.html" target="_blank">vector works mechanical</a>
