I'm wondering if the new iBooks are set up to run such applications as Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and Premiere? I need to get a laptop as I head off to college and I will be majoring in Computer Graphics Technology. I would like to be able to do stuff on the go, and am wondering if an iBook will do. I realize the TiPowerbooks are much better, and I do want one, but the price is a factor there.
I do consider Final Cut Pro to be superior for digital video, but I already use that at church for videos, plus it is also pricy (although worth it).

Just wondering what other people think.

From what I've heard, the new iBooks work perfectly for such things. Sure, you have no AltiVec for Photoshop, but in all reality the difference isn't mind-boggling.

I did quite a bit of graphics work on my old iMac 350 a bit back... and that G3/350 was just fine, so your 500 should be kickin' ! Not to mention the better video cardm RAM that is 60% cheaper (than it was a year ago)...

You'll be quite happy!
Be happy.

you don't need to post this everywhere. you'll get plenty of excellent responses in the ibook forum where this thread still exists. just a little FYI.
