Has anyone used KPT Vector Effects in Adobe Illustrator 9?

I'm having problems extruding text with the perspective set to zero - it looks fine in the KPT preview window but then back in Illustrator I just seem to get the original artwork with loads of extra nodes on it. It works fine with the perspective set to anything BUT zero!

Is KPT VE just not fully compatible with AI9 or am I doing something wrong?
