Anyone know a good book for Lightwave 6?
I'm new to LW so I'd like one that starts off with basics so novices like me wont be left behind. Thanks.

PS. I bought a "LW 6 inside" but found it a bit difficult to follow. This book is rated as "intermediate - advanced",which I'm not.

i saw one or two by Cource that were decent at teaching rendering/lighting/animation techniques but not that great for basic modeling techniques...

are you brand new to 3d stuffs or do you already have a grounding but just need a book for a new program?

The best place to start is with the manuals that came with the software. I know no one likes to read the manuals but the manuals that are packaged with LightWave give you the best possible starting point. The LightWave UI is unlike any other Mac app and may be disconcerting to newbies. Work through the manuals and the included tutorials and you'll be ready to tackle that Inside LightWave book you invested in. Good Luck.

Hi guys, thanks for ur advice.

I guess I'll tackle the manual this time around.

BTW, has any of you guys checked the Lightwave training videos sold at places like Amazon.com? If watched any of them, do you think they are worth paying 50 bucks each? Thanks.
