Has anyone used a Wacom Intuos2 tablet? How does it compare with the Graphire2? I'm curious about the 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. Is it worth the extra money?

The main advantage to an Intuos is the size of the work area. In the case of a tablet, bigger is definitely better. The Graphire is a great option for a mobile application or if space is a real premium, but, if you're going to do any real drawing, photo manipulation or anything requiring detail work, the larger working area of the Intuos is a must.

Have just bought a graphire2 and am very pleased with it. The old saying - 'you get what you pay' for comes to mind.
I am happy, the children can use it but it is also useful for my work.

Warranty:
Intuos 2 - life time
Graphire 2 - 1 year
Pressure Level
Intuos 2 - 2000+
Graphire 2 - 1000 est
Also the pen with graphire is different....in general the Intuos pen is a lot more comfortable than graphire. I have both so I can tell the difference.
Graphire feels "cheap" too compare to the built quality of Intuos
IMO, the first generation of Intuos 6x8 is the best in size, price, and performance. I have the graphite colored one and love it
But the Intuos 2 6x8 seems a lot more expensive ....who needs the Wacom mouse? It sucks anyway...

Personally, I prefer the smaller Graphire 2 over the larger Intuos. I just bought a Graphire 2 to use at home. I use an Intuos at school and it seems uncomfortable to have to move my hand 4 inches and have the cursor move 10 pixels on the monitor (ok so I'm exaggerating a little, but you get the idea). If I need to get in and do tiny little details, I just zoom in on what I'm working on.
Whatever floats your boat I guess.
