Only afterwards did we discover that pantone updated and added some colors like a year ago or so (or something). Best we could do in this case was get a color that was "close". It's funny because the client then decided to go with a color we did have in our libraries anyway
I've also checked the Quark website and couldn't find anything new.

Ok I work for a design firm as atechie and my people wanted to use the new colors from Pantone so i had to figure out a way to add these new Pantones to the Adobe Illsutrrator Library and Quark library. As far I as I know you can't added them to the library physically (I think we have to wait from Quark and Adobe to do their thing) But you can got the the pantone.com site and and download files withthe new pantone colors in them. These files then allow for adding of tht new colors to documents and the color pallets/swatches .
So you need to roll your browser to
http://www.pantone.com/support/csupd...p?platform=Mac
And choose form the pulldown menu, either "single EPS with all 1,089 colors" for Illustrator which will then add all the Pantone colors to the swatch pallete or if you use Quark download "Solid to Process QXD"
Now I know that it says Process but the colors still are added as spot to the palettes, and Pantone was the one who told me how to do this, it is a terrible workaround, but it does the job. ope this helped in someway or opened some new ideas.
Also if the above link doesn't work
1) go to
http://www.pantone.com
2) Click Support
3) Click Color Library Updates
4) Clcik Mac Files
5) Choose you pain form the drop down menu.
