I hate to buy a pc to see how they fuc up my web sites but I need to because PCs just screw everything up/
my question, can I use VPC to test or is it not what they see on a real PC?
Thx

Weeelllllll performance wise don't expect too great a framerate in a flash site and expect sloooowwww loading times but sure you can use vpc to test a site. HOWEVER, remember you are still on a mac monitor with mac colors, so that might be an issue for you to think about. If you are a web developer you really should consider having a cheap pc box (or cheap mac box depending on your position) to do testing for multiplatform issues.

I have an AppleScript that I found somewhere (I forgot from where) that is supposed to mimic the colors of a PC monitor. I dunno how accurate it is, but if you are interested I can add it to my iDisk's shared files. Reply back.

Well, the simulation of PC colors may be accurate. Its just there are MILLIONS of possible configurations for PCs. Any color from one PC to the next may not match. There is no colorsync equivalent on the PC as a standard issue in the OS, therefore color can vary wildly from one machine to another.
Most of that could be corrected with a basic setup calibration software (similar to how colorsync sets up the colors for a mac).
If you find it works with the colors in VPC with the PC gamma setting on your computer (you can use a second monitor with the gamma setting for a PC if you really want a quick check). That's the most distinct difference in colors from mac/pc.
In any case, I suggest that this is enough of a test, unless you want to test the browser platform and serve different images depending on the platform (not my suggestion unless color IS your product).
Usually, it should be enough to see the images render correctly for layout and if the images are decently bright. Good luck!
