Hi does anyone know how to create a car model using a 3D apprecation?
Or where can I fine information on the internet for this?
If there is any artist who's willing to share his/her experience will be very much appreciated.
I'm currently using Eletrical Image.

I always only appreciated EIAS for its rendering engine, I always thought the modeling was a little.....ehhhh... Anyways back on point. This site might help you out. do a general google search for 3d tips/free models etc. a free model will at least give you some place to start from, an idea of what is involved in rendering a car (which is probably WAY harder than it looks). Perhaps lightwave would be an easier modeling environment? (if thats even an option)

good luck!

Hi.

If you have not already found the EI forums.....
http://www.postforum.com http://www.dvgarage.com http://www.electricimage.com

I think there is a thread going on at DVGarage about how to model a car right now. There is of course no easy way of doing this because a car model needs a lot of intricate detail to be believeable. If i remember correctly i think there was a cinema user who made a pretty good car modelling tutorial. Check out the cinema website or ask on the cinema section at postforum.com.

Good luck

Ha! This is right up my alley. When I model vehicles, I use the Alias/Wavefront software Autostudio. The software runs on Win2k. It is "The" industry standard for modeling automobiles and it isn't all that hard to figure out after using it for a couple of months, but it is the most powerful 3D modeler out there. The retail price is quite high for non-students(10k and up), but until Oct 30, it's very inexpensive for students ($195). Their website has some good tutorials on how to build cars with their software (the one that comes to mind is showing the basic construction of a Volvo). But if all you have is Softimage, I don't know how to help you.

Here's an example of a car I modeled in Autostudio:
