What's the best tool for creating fonts? The only tool I've ever known of is Macromedia's Fontographer, a program firmly in its pre-Mac OS X roots.
Don't get me wrong, I love OS 9, and in fact, I'm not touching OS X with a stick until it matures more. However, I'd like to be able to play around with creating fonts, but I don't want to fork over $400 for a program that is Classic-only right now (and has seen no updates for quite some time, I believe, nor have I heard of any in the future) . Anyone have any ideas as to how to go about creating fonts? (I'd think there'd be an easy way to do this, maybe even a *free* way... but I've no clue right now)
Forgive me (and point me to an URL) if this has been covered before, didn't find anything using Search...
