I have several images in a folder (named: filename01.tif, filename2.tif, etc.) and what i need to do is an amimated gif using each of this images as a frame in this animation.
The thing i need to do is to have each image pasted into a new photoshop document as a new layer, that way when i have the file with all the images a different layers i can easily build the animation with imageready.
So, anyone knows of a way to make an action that goes into the folder with the images, and sequentially open the files then copy the contents and paste them as a new layer in the master photoshop file which will hold all the "layered images"?

It's been a long time, but doesn't GIF Builder import a series of gifs (to create an animated gif)? That way you only have to batch process the tifs to gifs in Photoshop. Sounds like less work for the same result.
Just an idea.

would the actions features of PS be of any help? I don't have a ton of experience using it, but it seems quite powerful..

You mentioned that you have imageready?
Try, File > Import > Folder as Frames
It might just work
I think it will import any image type, you might wish to use an action in Photoshop to resize them first.
