no problems importing the file, but only the preview is printed, which of course looks very bad. I tried all EPS options, made paths out of the type - no success. any suggestions?

You might want to ask this question in the Art & Graphic Design forum. Reply if you want me to move it there. Thanks.

If you don't have a postscript printer, that could be your problem. I've run into that with lots of people. I don't personally use Appleworks, but I'm sure it can handle the EPS files ok. (anyone to contradict me?)

You should be able to print these to a PDF (use the shareware Print2PDF software available at www.versiontracker.com) and then print the PDF files to your printer without a problem. If you want a more robust PDF creation software you can spring for Adobe Acrobat (the full version) or go with a freeware/shareware Ghostscript or MacGhostscript. These all work well (I've used them all at one time or another)

The Print2PDF has some limitations, but works for almost anything. Try it out and see if it works for you. Good luck.

thanks for your reply!

I already tried this out, it really looks like AppleWorks has problems with the EPS files from Illustrator... oddly, EPS exported directly from FreeHand work.

this is all very strange, but the most stunnning aspect is that in Word everything works fine!
