I an a graphic designer using 10.1.5 on a dual G4 tower, and want to add a second monitor. I have a new NEC that I want to use for my document and an old, worn Hitachi to use for my palettes. Graphics card is Nvidia G-Force 4MX.

Is there an easy way to do this? I have seen other designers run dual monitors. What is involved, and what hardware do I need? Thanks for the help!

What the hell does Panther have to do with dual monitors? As long as the graphics card has two monitor outputs, just hook them both up. You'll probably need an adapter..maybe a new graphics card.

A side note, though, you really should get Panther

I believe the Gf4 MX has dual display support. All you need are the appropriate adaptors to connect your VGA monitors. An ADC to VGA adaptor costs about $30.

Once you have both connected, simply reboot your system. The second monitor will be activated by the operating system. Use Display in System Preferences to configure your desktop.
