On my iBook I have the option turned on to require a password when the computer wakes from sleep. This works just fine in my opinion unless you want to switch to another user. There is a button there to allow you to switch users, and it sends you to the login window. But, at some point after doing that the system goes back to sleep (maybe the same amount of time that the computer will go back to sleep if no password or incorrect passwords are entered). Seemingly depending on how fast you enter the new password and/or how long it takes for that user to log in, this will sometimes happen at the login window and other times will happen at various points in the login process. I was able to duplicate this on my iMac, except usually the user gets logged all the way in before the system goes back to sleep (probably because it's a much faster Mac and login time is dramatically shorter). So, it would seem to be in my very limited testing not confined to just one piece of hardware.
I have submitted feedback to Apple, and was hoping this would be fixed in 10.3.2. I have installed the latest update, and while it seems to be working fine, this bug was not fixed. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there any known fix or workaround?
Thanks.
