I have had .Mac since it replaced iTools. I like the service quite a bit. At some point over the summer my iDisk went to hell and I have had no luck whatsoever in bringing it back. Of course I have tried the Apple support forums but they never respond to my posts, and I haven't been able to find an email to send questions to. I also called their telephone support line, but they don't provide telephone support for .mac and nobody would help me. So I'm turning to you all.
The problem is this. Open a browser window and enter
http://homepage.mac.com/axo1ot1/ See what happens? Now I figured out what the password is, but that wasn't easy considering it's not the password I use for .mac It turns out it's the password I use for my admin account on my system (I only have one user). I did not do anything to make .mac password-protect my site, so what this looked like to me was a permissions issue. And it only seems to affect files in the root sites folder (for example the 'navis' which I link to in my sig can still be accessed even though they are on my iDisk).
So what I did was select the files and manually change their permissions in Panther's Get Info command. This doesn't seem to have worked. Does anyone have any other ideas?
