I got Panther server today and everything seems to be working great except mail.

I think I have it set up right but when I tell workgroup man. to creat a mail account the server creats no account in server admin.

Any Idea?

I could use help setting up the mail server, I could be doing it wrong. Could some one give me a quick overview?

If you goto ( http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsre...omain=bovie.us ) you can see that everything under Mail is all F*** Up. This worked great with a Microsoft Exchange server. This really makes me mad. For the 1st time Microsoft has a product that is 1000 times easier to setup than apple.

Everything else setup great, windows files sharing, PDC, DHCP, HTTP. But mail has to be really hard to setup.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Well I hove to put my old mail server backup becuase I can't get mail working on OS X server tonight.
I will try later.

As far as I can tell the server will not make mailboxes. If anyone can give me a quick overview in setting up DNS for Mail and setting up Mail in PANTHER 10.3 Server that would be great

Thanks.

If I allready have a DNS server pointing mail.bovie.us to my external IP address do I need a MX record on the OS X Server DNS.

Depends. What DNS server is your server and clients using to resolve? Are you using the same domain name internally as this external DNS server you reference? If so, then yes.

The external DNS server pointing at your external IP is enough to get mail to you from the outside, though.

EDIT: Oh, and here is the link to the 10.3 documentation: http://www.apple.com/server/documentation/
