better quality than iTMS as well. And you can usually find the bittorrent within an hour or so of the show airing (man, that's fast). I live in Germany, and bittorrent or iTMS is the only way I can even watch the show

I have mentioned before that I think the Human Cylons and the Toasters have different agendas.
Or the Cylons have changed tactics. Originally they wanted to wipe out all humans, but with the baby thing and the possibility of finding Earth, they may just be following them to Earth and will then take that over. There are a lot of religious undertones (Cylons follow God and Humans have multiple gods). Cylons have the Humans' bible memorized, and thus know about the mystical Earth. The Cylons however, believing in one God, may want to find Earth as well now that they know about it (spies and all) and create a new homeworld/paradise.

In a recent episode they were willing to kill Boomer and the baby just to destroy BSG so I don't think the tactics have changed at all.
They also knew were Kobol and the tomb was before BSG got there so I don't think they have much interest in finding earth for themselves.
Also keep in mind that they are cleaning up Caprica so they obviously want to use it for something.

Maybe they don't care about Boomer since she helped the humans. Only the 6 in Baltar's mind seems to care. How did they know where the tomb on Kobol was? I don't remember any Cylons in the tomb.

What if Baltars six is all a hallucination? And no she is not the only one that cares. Remember the episode called the farm? The cylons want to bread naturally.
Boomer lead them to the tomb on Kobol. The cylons were already in orbit and would have loved to kill them if they got the chance.

The cylons want to bread naturally.
Well I don't see why they had to nuke 12 planets if all they wanted was organic bread.

Silly.
Anyway, I am confused. Is it 12 colonies or 12 planets? First I thought it was 12 planets but they only seem to focus on Caprica I thought it was 12 original colonies on one planet. What are the odds that there are 12 planets that can support life in such close proximity to one another?

12 different planets. Caprica is a planet is one of the twelve colonies. Caprica's god equivalent is Zeus.

AFAIK, 12 planets, each home to one colony.
What are the odds that there are 12 planets that can support life in such close proximity to one another?
About as likely as Cylons looking like Xena, The Warrior Princess.

We're certainly given the impression divine influence was involved in the finding of the twelve colonies. Also don't forget Earth is far away from the 12 colonies.
Also likely it's not the first time the 12 colonies were colonized. Six has made comments about although the players change this has all happened before and it will happen again.

Ok 12 planets is the first thing I find rather dumb about the show. The least they could do it SHOW these other planets then.

Sorry I was referring to Six caring about Boomer, not the Cylons caring about babies (it's breed btw).
Boomer lead them to the spot on Kobol, but I thought she had to read some additional material or something? AND the Cylons didn't have the arrow of Athena so may have not destroyed it because they wanted to find out more about Earth. And weren't the Cylons in orbit destroyed by the original Boomer? I could be wrong, as I only watch the shows once or twice and that one was a long time ago.
Speaking of the 12 planets, I thought the correlation to the Zodiac signs was genius. Anyone have a list of the BSG planet names and their corresponding Zodiac constellation names?

I think that BSG was assigned to Caprica (weren't there 1 BS for each planet) so that could be the cause of the emphasis.

Why? They've all been blown up since the first half hour of the show.

Boomer found her way to the tomb by piecing together the humans religious text and other bits of information.
Remember that Gina (six) was waiting for Starbuck when she grabbed the arrow and Boomer and helo arrived there long before so anyone of them could have taken it if they wanted to.
I think the Cylons want humans to find earth and stay there and the Cylon baby hybrids can have caprica as they are the only ones that can possibly withstand the radiation.

Yeah, it seems that Galactica was stationed near Caprica and most of its crew came from there. It does seem a little narrow-sighted, though, for them to want to rescue the survivors on Caprica but not even check the other colonies.

So since Boomer pieced that info together, that doesn't mean the other Cylons had as well.
Six had been following Helo so was already in the area. She wasn't necessarily waiting for Starbuck. Boomer and Helo didn't know that Kobol had been found so the arrow wouldn't matter to them.
In one of the episodes, one of the Cylons said that they wanted to wipe the leftover humans out because they didn't want the humans to come back and retaliate down the line.

Helo and boomer arrived at the museum because boomer knew Starbuck would show up. That is why they camped out there the night before. "Everything that has happened has happened before"
Yes, they cylons do what to destroy humans, that is my point.

Right. Boomer knew that eventually someone would come to get the arrow. She knew it was the only way the humans would get to Earth.
I think the Cylons and Colonists are in a recurrent loop of creating each other, with the creation destroying the creator and then trying to become more human. My guess is that the Lords of Kobol were Cylons who created the Colonials. The Colonials enter into a quest to become more human like the Cylons who created them, rebel, leave Kobol. The Colonials created Cylons, the Cylons enter into a quest to become more human, and so on...

I just turned on the TV and an old Star Trek TNG was on... guess who was in it... Michelle Forbes. BUT she was not playing Ensin Ro, she actually played a different character in an earlier episode (The one where Troy's mother is banging that guy where they commit suicide at the age of 60)

The nuclear warhead.
I was very disappointed by this episode. Did they ever even explain why they thought letting the baby live would be so dangerous? I didn't get the urgency behind that at all.

The only thing I can see is they thought the baby could somehow spread some kind of genetic defect (like the president's cancer) throughout the fleet.

I got the impression at the end that doc knew or had some inklings about the effect the babys blood could have and that he had serious reservations about the repercussions such a thing could have on the fleet. Think about how news of a cylon/human hybrid baby with cancer-curing blood would be received.
Just a thought.

Exactly. After I saw that the podcast was released before the episode, I didn't read this thread until the show was over. Spoilers ahead.
Wasn't the strongest ep, mostly because a lot of stuff was going on. Seeing Gina move away when Baltar moved on her made since considering the things she's been through, and it's an interesting twist for a Cylon to join a peace movement. Lots of political undertones. The President (Adar) in the flashback was a Bush/Clinton hybrid (scary thought indeed). Clinton's sexcapades and Bush's disregard for compromise.
Up to now, Baltar could have seen the light and become a good guy, but he crossed the line in handing over the nuke. Lee's near-death experience was barely mentioned, but the previews made it look like that will be the core of next week's episode.

Maybe. But in the episode, all he had the chance to say was something like "her blood is damned odd" (well DUH) and then everyone's like "we've got to kill it." It completely sucked most of the tension out of the episode for me, and made watching it just kind of annoying.

Baltar admitted that there are slight differences between human blood and cylon blood. So a simple blood test is all that should be required to detect cylons. Now they just need to carry out routine blood tests. Time consuming, but better than what they're doing now.
I'm annoyed at how easily Baltar was affected by a single letter from the President. If the letter is supposed to be the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, then that is one very lame straw. The writer should've come up with something more convincing.
Other than that, I enjoyed the episode.

I agree but you have to realize that he's very sensitive because he's so conflicted. he's been trying for so long to get both the humans and the cylons to trust him and believe that he's on their side, and emotionally he really is almost on both sides. Sure it would hurt a normal person only-a-little to find out they got the most important position in the galaxy from someone that didn't trust them, but for him it cuts too close to the bone.... he knows he doesn't deserve their trust, and doesn't even trust himself. No matter what he does be betrays himself and half of those that even halfway trust him... that will make anyone more delicate to criticism.

Could it be that that Cylon blood is indistinguishable from human blood, but only the blood of cylon-human offspring is different?

Baltar did in fact say in this episode that human and cylon blood cells are slightly different. But that begs the question why on earth they wouldn't have started mandatory blood screening of the entire fleet? Sure it would be an exhaustive endeavor but still...
Something else struck me as odd as well though. Roslyn saw Gaius with Six in her dreams or whatever and according to the little folder on her desk, they recognize the Six model as a known cylon. Before Gaius inoculated her with the cylon baby's blood, Roslyn placed Gaius with Six and reached out to him in a sort of terror. Once it was all over though, she said nothing.
It's common knowledge (from the mini series) that Gaius' navigation program was used by the cylons as a virus on most of the fleet in the original assault on the colonies. Now, at the very least, Rosyln knows that Gaius was involved with a cylon spy before the attacks. Yet when she came-to she made no mention nor even acted as if she remembered. Kinda weird.

Because Baltar has always faked the Cylon tests, he said he would pass everyone as it is easier that way. The writers don't seem to be making this clear though as Boomer failed this "fake" test.
At any rate I really liked this last episode. I love that they have added a new element other than the Cylons that is dangerous. Also the fact that the REAL Gina is also with Baltar is cool as the Baltar/Six relationship was getting a bit repetitive.
I was disappointed the Pegasus wasn't in it though.

Don't get too attached to her. I have a feeling that the nuke is going to be used to destroy the Pegasus in a future episode. The show is called "Battlestar Galatica" after all.

Oh I know it will. That is why I want to see as much as I can of her now.

So, I was very disappointed by this episode. The prez thing was too easy, Baltar's stuff was too irritating, and the overall story didn't much sense either. I know, suspension of belief and whatever, but nonetheless this episode (like the last) just didn't seem up to par. It reminded me of the Star Trek one-complete-story-per-episode thing, too, in a negative way.

She also was on 24. This time she's bitchy again, but in a more subservient bitchy role (at least so far). (Please don't post any 24 spoilers in here though. )

Baltar's test is real; Boomer proved it works. He's just too lazy/chicken/busy to actual do it on all 50000 people. (It takes half a day to do, and Boomer's positive result scared the crap out of him.)

You'd think he would have shown someone else how to do it, and would have several lab techs going at it all the time, seeing how he is vice pes and all and probably has other things to do during his day.
Plus you'd think he would have done the crew of Galactica first, which probably would have caused someone to question his methods seeing as how Boomer slipped through the test.
Also, wouldn't the entire fleet know about the different models, or at least be shown pictures? This in mind, wouldn't someone have figured out Gina was one of 'them'?

You'd think, but that's another hole in the writing.
They did address (or gloss over?) it though by having Baltar essentially discredit his own work after the Boomer incident after she shot Adama.

Yes they would, or at least the ship security teams would know. I guess our suspension of belief here is have the civilians not know.

I just hope the plot holes don't keep accumulating. And If the existing (other holes) are resolved that's great, but I hope they're not explained away in a fashion like the prez's recovery. It's a letdown in a series like this.

They did, he said boomer got through because she was a beta test and he changed his methods since then.

OK it's nice to know they own up to this. Moore said in the commentary they tried the change-the-hairdo-and-add-glasses thing, but realized really only during shooting it didn't work at all.

So, they're giving themselves the option of bring the cancer back. It's a complete remission as it were, but not a cure. Still, as written, it was just a little too convenient IMO.

If you listen to the podcast they realized that Baltar and Six should have been at home, not making out in the marketplace.
Also the pres now knows that Balar was involved with a Cylon.
